Welcome to Facebook
Casual visitors to my Facebook page may notice something a little different right now. A few days ago I added a welcome page to my facebook site. If you’re not “liked” my page this is where you’ll land but if you have “liked” the page you’ll be directed to my wall, so here’s the link you’ll need https://www.facebook.com/gavtrain?sk=app_190322544333196
So why would you want to visit my welcome page? Well the first and frankly only reason to visit is to get the chance to watch an exclusive photography and Photoshop tutorial on painting with light.
Remember you’ll to have “liked” my facebook page to see the video.
Contrary to popular belief, not everyone has a Facebook account. Some employers in the U.S. don’t allow their employees to have such an account due to security concerns. Also, some companies look at the Facebook pages of prospective employees to determine their “social habits, foibles, etc”. In a world where privacy is becoming almost non-existent, it seems silly to have such an open window through which everyone can observe your life. Paranoid? Maybe a little. That doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you.
It does make me sad that everything has to revolve around Facebook now – I love your website Gavin but I don’t do Facebook & many of my ‘photography’ friends don’t either.
I fully understand that social networking sites are great for advertising & promoting yourself, but YOUR website should be the place we’re encouraged to visit & rewarded for visiting – why should we have to have a facebook account to ‘be in with a chance of winning’ something…
Clair.
Nicely done, Gavin. I liked your introductory video on light painting. I’ve seen it done a couple fo times, but I haven’t tried it myself, yet. I’m a fan of your videos. You could become the UK Scott Kelby.
Found myself in a similar situation, not keen on facebook either .
The alternative is just sign up , ignore all the requests & just work from the news feed ,where you can have all your favourite web sites.
Doing it this way saves so much time!
We had a look on your video on how to edit videos on proshow gold but it starts and gets stuck on how to edit in the middel of the clip please can you help . many thanks Jean Dobbs
